So again, what is the proper way to use these abilities? I am not having a difficult time with the game or anything as healing back up is a joke. I also get "stunned" one out of every 2 times I am hit while blocking. It seems that a Side Step keeps you in a close position to do a quick attack after dodging, but doesn't give you the same distance as a dodge roll which often leads to me still getting hit. I read the tutorial over and over and over and I don't really understand the strengths and weaknesses of the two. Rarely am I blocking and I NEVER do the sidestep. I almost always use the dodge roll to the sides and back etc. But this game Quen is nerfed (Thank god) and I am getting destroyed in a lot of fights. I played Witcher 1 and 2, and In witcher 2 I just kept Quen up at all times and never really had to worry about anything outside of a dodge roll here and there.
So I am using a controller for most of the game.Ī / X is a Dodge Roll B / O is parry (Side step/back step) And Left Trigger is Block Or Counter if you timed it well.
