

There were further setbacks as critics dismissed BSG as reheated George Lucas and Star Wars custodian 20th Century Fox sued Universal Studios for plagiarism (Fox lawyers pointed out BSG’s working title was Star Worlds, with early scripts featuring a Luke Skywalker-esque character named ‘Skyler’). Alas, disaster struck when the network interrupted the 148-minute pilot to cover the signing of an Egypt-Israel peace deal (ironic given the Biblical grounding of the series).
